With its advanced powertrain system, the engine produces 389 horsepower at only 5,600 rpm and 479 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,400 rpm.

 

The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 base models come with the standard 2.7L TurboMax™ 4-cylinder engine, which produces 310 horsepower at 5,600 rpm. In higher-grade Silverado trims, you can find the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8. This engine offers less horsepower than the base model Tundra, producing only 355 horsepower. Additionally, its ZR2 model employs a 3.0L Duramax® Turbo Diesel engine, which generates 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft. of torque.

Off-Road Features

The new 2025 Toyota Tundra features rugged trail tech to enhance off-roading performance. A stand-out example is the Tundra’s Crawl Control. The advanced system automatically modulated brakes and throttles to help drivers tackle steep inclines. The Toyota Tundra also offers Multi-Select Terrain Control, an available system that regulates wheel spin by adjusting engine throttle and traction.

 

The new Chevy Silverado 1500 also offers a similar Terrain Mode. However, the truck does not provide a Crawl Control feature.

 

Suspension Performance 

The new 2025 Toyota Tundra upgrades from a traditional leaf spring front suspension to a double wishbone design, improving stability. The new Tundra also utilizes the advanced multi-link system for the rear suspension, which uses coiled springs to adapt to road conditions without sacrificing strength. 

 

The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 uses an independent setup with coil-over shocks for the front suspension and a traditional solid axle with leaf springs for its rear.

The Toyota Tundra SR5 and higher trims offer a variety of driving modes for enhanced performance. The standard driving modes are the Eco, Normal, Sport, and TOW/HAUL.
