  • 600K miles in LCs, no regrets

    By winter1 on Sunday, August 21, 2016

Yes it's expensive. But with a little care, these things last forever. Recently bought my 3rd LC...the 2016...which still continues to impress. Our 1999 went to my son after 10 yrs and 300K miles. He just sold it for 6K with 405K miles. (AC went out this summer...only real problem other than wear and tear). We then sold him our 2009 with 220K miles...runs like new. He swears he will get this one to 500K miles. Our new 2016 promises the same performance and reliability. Great car for kids and travel, with the boat! Secure, stable snowy winter travel. Great ride for cross country travel. If you can tolerate the same car for 10+ years, it's a great value. But if not, resale value is great. The downside? Will suck gas in the city. 20mi/gal range w highway driving.
  • My 2008 model runs still like new - luckily!

By Felix on Friday, July 22, 2016

I own the V8 diesel version since 2009. I had only two minor issues(together €850 to fix)not bad after 200,000 miles! The 2016 model with diesel is not available in the EU - but since my Land Cruiser runs like new I can happily wait for times to change. The Land Cruiser is an excellent, safe, dependable and very comfortable vehicle that pleases my family of 5 on the autobahn, off-road - anywhere. Best worry free car ever. Greetings from Germany

The land cruiser was a replacement for the failed Mercedes GL experiment(Nuff said). It was never a first choice but after owning it we love it. Its not flashy - just great- all the comfort, performance and finish of the MB GL - but none of the hassles! I mean NONE: its like you can have your Lux,regular gas, comfort and resale value in one SUV. Of course if you need the Star on your dodge based truck -it wont do that. PLUS i can honestly say that its smoother and better working at 50K than new - surely give the impression that well be sick of this car before it has nay problems or works any different than now.
